7 December 2010 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government and the Association of Scottish Community Councils seeking responses to points raised in the petition and during the discussion. Link to Official Report 7 December 2010" 

8 February 2011 :   The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders on the grounds that the Scottish Government has submitted a very detailed response to the points made in the petition which sets out the work since 2005 aimed at developing the capacity, capability and accountability of community councils. Further, the Association of Scottish Community Councils (ASCC) has confirmed that some of the petitioner's proposals are already in effect. It has also stated that other proposals are impractical or unlikely to succeed. In closing the Committee agreed to write to the ASCC asking it to meet with the petitioner to discuss the points raised by the petition. <Link to Official Report 8 February 2011
