Written Submissions for PE1353

5 October 2010 :   The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government, Medical Research Council, MS Society Scotland, Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network and the Scottish Medicines Consortium seeking responses to points raised in the petition and during the discussion. 23 November 2010 :   The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders on the grounds that the Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office has stated it would be pleased to consider research proposals to investigate the potential role of CCSVI in MS. Further, it would be premature for the Scottish Government to recommend to MS patients to undergo CCSVI surgical procedures due to the current level of debate around its potential role in MS.
