18 May 2010 :   The Committee took evidence from Moyra and Michael Beattie and agreed to write to the Scottish Government, the Royal Town Planning Institute, Planning Aid, Development Trusts Association Scotland and a selection of local authorities (Dundee, South Lanarkshire and West Lothian) seeking responses to points raised in the petition and during the discussion. <Link to Official Report 18 May 2010

22 February 2011 :   The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders on the grounds that the Scottish Government has confirmed that it has amended its draft guidance to local authorities on compulsory purchase to take into account issues raised by the petition. Further, the petitioner has responded that she is pleased with the amendments to the draft guidance and is reassured that the main points of the petition have been addressed.
