S1W-1261 Miss Annabel Goldie: To ask the Scottish Executive whether palliative care is part of the strategic provision of health care in Scotland.

 

S1W-1262 Paul Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive how many acres of land, and which sites, have been sold by the Greater Glasgow Health Board in the last five financial years.

 

S1W-1263 Paul Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will provide a breakdown of funding made available to local authorities for carers in the financial year 1999/2000.

 

S1W-1264 Paul Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has any plans to ring fence funding made available to local authorities for carers for the purpose of short breaks.

 

S1W-1265 Fiona Hyslop: To ask the Scottish Executive what action it intends to take to address delays in allocating elderly people in hospital in West Lothian places in residential or nursing homes given that placement dates in April and May 2000 are currently being allocated and that the number of vacancies in homes exceeds the numbers awaiting places.

 

S1W-1266 Miss Annabel Goldie: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it considers that hospices across Scotland are funded on a consistent basis and, if not, why not.

 

S1W-1267 Mr Keith Harding: To ask the Scottish Executive how many repairs have been carried out to the M9 between junctions 9 and 11 over the past five years and at what cost.

 

S1W-1268 Duncan McNeil: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has for developing housing policy in Scotland.

 

S1W-1269 Hugh Henry: To ask the Scottish Executive what support it will give to organisations representing older people such as the Renfrewshire Elderly Forum, and whether it is currently supporting any pilot projects for such organisations.

 

S1W-1271 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it intends to reform the law relating to standard securities to allow the provisions of section 40 of the Bankruptcy (Scotland) Act 1985, adapted as necessary, to apply in cases where the eviction of a debtor and his family is sought by virtue of security holders’ powers under the Conveyancing and Feudal Reform (Scotland) Act 1970.

 

S1W-1272 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it considers that the role of Historic Scotland in relation to applications for building consent or planning permission, particularly as regards Grade C listed buildings, should be reviewed in the light of the length of time such processes take and the expense involved for owners and, if so, whether it will conduct such a review.

 

S1W-1273 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will list the members of the focus groups and industry representative bodies who will be invited to play a part in developing and implementing the new strategy for tourism and how these members were selected.

 

S1W-1274 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-622 by Sarah Boyack on 10 August, what account it takes of the effects which the designation of areas as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) has had or may have on the economy of the Highlands and Islands in considering an area’s current or future status as an SSSI.

 

S1W-1275 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will reform the law to require Scottish Enterprise (SE) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) to be consulted, prior to the designation of an area as Site of Special Scientific Interest, as to the effects of such a designation on the economy and the Parliament to be consulted where SE and HIE consider that such a designation would be harmful.

 

S1W-1276 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-113 by Lord Hardie on 6 July, whether it will define, describe and elucidate the circumstances in which a form of restricted disclosure of the reasons for not proceeding against an accused may be made and why such disclosure must be restricted.

 

S1W-1277 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-113 by Lord Hardie on 6 July, whether it will make a statement on the relevance of the European Convention on Human Rights to the refusal to advise victims of crime of the reason why no criminal proceedings have been raised in respect of such crime.

 

S1W-1278 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-113 by Lord Hardie on 6 July, whether it will publish all or any of the legal advice it has received in relation to the right of a victim of crime to be afforded a full explanation of the reasons for a decision not to go ahead with criminal proceedings.

 

S1W-1279 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it considers that the current review of the tourist industry in Scotland should be conducted by a body independent of the Scottish Tourist Board.

 

S1W-1281 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive , further to the answer to question S1W-637 by Donald Dewar on 4 August, what the current market value of Bute House is.

 

S1W-1282 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive , further to the answer to question S1W-222 by Donald Dewar on 9 August, whether it will define, describe and elucidate the nature of the specialism of each of its special advisers and whether such specialisms exist within the civil service.

 

S1W-1283 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive , further to the answer to question S1W-140 by Donald Dewar on 6 July, whether it will define, describe and elucidate the circumstances in which it may be appropriate for the Westminster Parliament to consider legislation about devolved matters.

 

S1W-1284 Miss Annabel Goldie: To ask the Scottish Executive whether the funding scheme operated by the Scottish Office offering local authorities one half share of the cost of installing C.C.T.V. is still available.

S1W-1288 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what representations it has made, or will make, to Her Majesty’s Government in relation to the introduction of an ‘open skies’ policy for cargo flights to and from Scotland, and the institution of a comprehensive bilateral agreement with the USA to eradicate any disadvantage businesses in the West of Scotland face in comparison to competitors in mainland Europe.

 

S1W-1289 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what its plans are for the completion of the M77 and M74, the envisaged timescale, and how these plans will be funded.

 

S1W-1290 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what resources it will provide to ensure that businesses are year 2000 compliant, given that the award of training grants to deal with this problem has now been terminated.
