S1W-16 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it intends to provide the Parliament with an estimate of the likely additional costs to Scotland’s fish processing industry of measures proposed to implement the European Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) as soon as possible after 1st July.

 

S1W-17 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it intends after 1 July 1999 to request a meeting with Scotland’s water authorities to convey the concerns of Scotland’s fish processing industry over the implementation of measures including new charges in connection with the European Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC).

 

S1W-18 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it intends after the 1 July to request Scotland’s water authorities to refrain from signing any contracts in connection with relevant measures relating to the implementation of the European Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) until a full review has been undertaken of the impact on Scotland’s fish processing industry and its findings considered.

 

S1W-19 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive whether the first minister would welcome a meeting with a delegation representing Scotland’s fish processing industry with a view to assisting their campaign for a moratorium on the measures proposed for the implementation of the European Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/eec).

 

S1W-20 Nicola Sturgeon: To ask the Scottish Executive when it intends to publish an Education Bill and which organisations and individuals will be consulted prior to publication.

 

S1W-21 David McLetchie: To ask the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body what is the current estimate of the cost of cancelling the new Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood.

 

S1W-22 David McLetchie: To ask the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body what is the current estimate for the annual running costs of the new Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood.

 

S1W-23 Nicola Sturgeon: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it intends to bring forward proposals to establish an education forum and, if so, when; and to specify its proposed membership, remit and relationship with (a) The Scottish Parliament and (b) Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Schools.

 

S1W-24 David McLetchie: To ask the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body what is the current estimate for the total cost of the new Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood and how this compares to the original estimate.

 

S1W-25 David McLetchie: To ask the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body what is the breakdown of the costs of the new Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood for –
(a) the building itself; and,
(b) transport and associated infrastructure.
S1W-26 Ben Wallace: To ask the Scottish Executive what measures it intends to take to safeguard the long-term future of Stracathro Hospital and to indicate its intended strategy for the retention of rural hospitals across Scotland.

 

S1W-27 Miss Annabel Goldie: To ask the Scottish Executive how many individuals (including drivers) will be employed in the Private Office of each Scottish Minister (including the First Minister and the Scottish Law Officers) and junior Scottish Minister; to specify what the responsibilities of each of these members of staff will be; and, what is the estimated annual cost of employing these staff.

 

S1W-28 Miss Annabel Goldie: To ask the Scottish Executive how many Special Advisers it intends to employ; to specify the estimated annual cost of employing Special Advisers; who is appointing Special Advisers; and, what are the guidelines on the pay of Special Advisers.

 

S1W-29 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has to review the maximum grant of 500 payable under the "Warm Deal in Scotland" programme.

 

S1W-30 Tommy Sheridan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it intends to inform the Parliament how many members of the Parliament benefited from a student maintenance grant.

 

S1W-31 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it plans to introduce a higher grant for those recipients of the "Warm Deal" in Scotland programme who are unemployed.

 

S1W-32 Maureen Macmillan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will arrange a meeting with the Fish Merchants Association (FMA) to discuss the treatment of effluent from the Scottish fish processing industry.
