S1W-2980 Mr Murray Tosh: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will commit any proportionate increases within the Scottish budget to accelerate its own strategic roads programme in line with increased expenditure in England and Wales on major road projects.

 

S1W-3010 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-2585 by Lord Hardie on 26 November 1999, whether it will give details of what enquiries or representations it has made or proposes to make and what has prompted it to make such enquires or representations, as to why the information relating to the litigation in the United States by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) against the manufacturers of the Chinook FADEC system, which was concluded in or about November 1995, was not made available to the Crown Office until December 1997 and why it was not produced by the MoD at the time of the fatal accident inquiry held in 1996, and to detail any response from the MoD.

 

S1W-3011 Tommy Sheridan: To ask the Scottish Executive how many complaints have been received about the operation of housing associations in Scotland, how many of these complaints have been upheld by the courts and ombudsman, and whether it will provide details of the outcome of the complaint and any subsequent case in respect of Grampian Housing Association.

 

S1W-3012 Tommy Sheridan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will carry out an inquiry into the administration and operation of housing associations in Scotland, looking in particular at their accountability and democratic practices.

 

S1W-3013 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question number S1W-2041 by Ms Wendy Alexander on 28 October 1999, whether it will provide an itemised breakdown of the revenue budget for each Social Inclusion Partnership.

 

S1W-3014 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive how many businesses Scottish Enterprise currently invests in, what the total value of these investments is and what rate of return is being obtained.

 

S1W-3015 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive how many people aged over 60, 65, 70 and 75 have been refused operations over each of the past three years for (a) heart conditions; (b) prostate conditions; (c) cancer; (d) eye ailments, and (e) hearing difficulties.

 

S1W-3016 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total value was of Regional Selective Assistance grants awarded in the last two years to (a) inward investors and (b) indigenous companies already based in Scotland.

 

S1W-3017 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive how many new jobs forecast by projects supported by Locate in Scotland between April 1998 and April 1999 have so far been created.

 

S1W-3018 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total cost would be of increasing the grant available under the Warm Deal programme from 500 to 700.

 

S1W-3019 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total cost would be of making available grants of up to 1800 per household for installing central heating under the Warm Deal programme, similar to the Home Energy Efficiency Scheme which operates in England and Wales.

S1W-3025 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive what action it is taking to resolve the dispute over the proposed erection of a new tourist sign post on the M90 for the Heart of Scotland Visitor Centre in Kinross.

 

S1W-3026 Ms Margo MacDonald: To ask the Presiding Officer whether, in view of the possible fundamental alteration to the Holyrood project represented by any proposal to demolish Queensberry House, the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body will initiate immediate and full re-evaluation of the feasibility and cost of the project.

 

S1W-3027 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total cost is of subsidies from the Scottish Executive and its agencies to ferry operations in Scotland in the current financial year and what percentage of the total revenues and costs of the ferry operations this figure represents.

 

S1W-3028 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive how many tenders have been awarded to undertake activities of Local Enterprise Companies and when will such invitations to tender next be issued.

 

S1W-3029 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will make representations to Her Majesty's Government as to whether it will make public the report circulated by Professor Philip Oxley of Cranfield University into the cost/benefit effect of the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act on taxi services in Scotland.

 

S1W-3030 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive which local authorities have made direct payments available within the last financial year to disabled persons in order to purchase services.

 

S1W-3031 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will publish a comparative analysis between the costs of funding housing through (a) private finance and (b) the Public Works Loans Board.

 

S1W-3032 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has to deal with the existence of tritium at various landfill sites in Scotland.

 

S1W-3033 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive what the total value of council tax arrears is by local authority for each of the last three years.

 

S1W-3034 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive whether, further to the answer to question number S1W-2395 by Sarah Boyack on 22 November 1999, it will confirm that the A77 upgrade from Fenwick to Malletsheugh will take place within the 2002-05 timescale.

 

S1W-3035 Alex Neil: To ask the Scottish Executive how many new ventures have been set up under the auspices of "Technology Ventures" since the initiative was launched; what is the total value of the investment made to date in these ventures, and whether it will provide a breakdown of the sources of funding for this investment.

 

S1W-3036 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has to produce centrally statistical data as currently gathered by local authorities, to monitor the take up rate of pensioners claiming council tax and housing benefits for the purposes of assessing poverty levels.

 

S1W-3037 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will make representations to Her Majesty's Government through the Inter Departmental Group on Older People to change the law to reduce the housing benefit taper which requires pensioners to pay 65p in every pound earned from their occupation or private pension over the income support level towards their rent and what assessment it has made or plans to make of the effect on poverty levels such a change may have.

S1W-3041 Johann Lamont: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question number S1W-2664 by Mr Jack McConnell on 18 November 1999, what steps it is taking to ensure that public bodies are representative of Scottish society and that appointments include increased numbers of women and people from the block and ethnic minority communities.

 

S1W-3042 Andrew Wilson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will list the incidence of leukaemia by ward in the Motherwell and Wishaw area over the longest annual period for which figures are available.

 

S1W-3043 Andrew Wilson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether the land previously covered by the Ravenscraig Steelworks has been restored to habitable levels.

 

S1W-3045 Roseanna Cunningham: To ask the Scottish Executive what assessment it has made of the number and percentage of vassals who would be due to make a compensatory payment under the proposed Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc (Scotland) Bill of (i) less than 100, (ii) between 100 and 200, (iii) between 200 and 500, (iv) between 500 and 1000, and (v) more than 1000.

 

S1W-3046 Roseanna Cunningham: To ask the Scottish Executive what estimate has been made of the levels of unclaimed feu duty which will be eligible for recovery under the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc (Scotland) Bill by total value and by number of arrears.

 

S1W-3047 Roseanna Cunningham: To ask the Scottish Executive what estimate has been made of the number of feudal superiors in Scotland who will be eligible to claim compensation under the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc (Scotland) Bill.

 

S1W-3048 Roseanna Cunningham: To ask the Scottish Executive what estimate has been made of the value of compensation which may be payable to (i) the Scottish Executive, (ii) other government departments, (iii) local authorities, (iv) agencies in their position as superiors, as a result of the proposed compensatory arrangements in the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc (Scotland) Bill.

 

S1W-3049 Roseanna Cunningham: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will give an indication of the tax status of any income received by superiors under the compensation proposals, and of any payments made by vassals, in the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc (Scotland) Bill and what representations if any have been made to Her Majesty’s Government on this point.

 

S1W-3050 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive what the average level is of direct payment made by local authorities to disabled persons in the current financial year in order to purchase services.

 

S1W-3051 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it recognises "Social Phobia" as a genuine illness leading to, among other difficulties, social exclusion and, if so, what treatment guidelines have been issued.

S1W-3057 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what impact there will be on patient services and staff employment by the Glasgow Primary Care Trust, the North Glasgow University Hospitals Trust, the South Glasgow University Hospitals Trust and the Yorkhill Trust if additional resources are not made available to meet the funding gap experienced by these Trusts this financial year.

 

S1W-3058 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive to specify its efficiency savings target for each of the NHS Trusts in Glasgow this year and how it anticipates those savings will be achieved.

 

S1W-3059 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive why each of the Glasgow NHS Trusts are in financial deficit

 

S1W-3060 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive which Scottish hospitals have removed organs from dead children without parental consent in financial years 1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99 and currently.

 

S1W-3061 Mr Kenneth Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it considers that the 305,017 paid to Lorna Naismith, former Director of Personnel at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, represents value for money in the NHS.

S1W-3070 Tommy Sheridan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will make representations to Her Majesty’s Government regarding the progress of the state aid map submitted to the European Commission by the Department of Trade and Industry on behalf of Scotland, as to whether the British map has been regarded as meeting European Union criteria, and whether the map is likely to be approved by 31 December 1999 and, if not, what the implications for Scotland will be.

 

S1W-3071 Tavish Scott: To ask the Scottish Executive what level of traffic capacity enhancement, in percentage terms, would be provided through implementing all the schemes in the strategic trunk roads review.

 

S1W-3072 Tavish Scott: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will provide outline estimates for the construction time for each of the preferred route alignments for schemes covered by the strategic roads review, including schemes where funding is not yet available, and those being processed by local authorities.
