The Committee will meet at 11.00 am in Committee Room 4

1. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will take evidence on the Inshore Fishing (Prohibited Methods of Fishing) (Firth of Lorn) (No. 2) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/240) from—

Ross Finnie MSP, Minister for Environment and Rural Development, Frank Strang, Head of Sea Fisheries Conservation, Eamon Murphy, Sea Fisheries Conservation Division, and Alastair Smith, Solicitor (Rural Affairs Division), Scottish Executive.

2. Subordinate legislation: Mr Jamie McGrigor MSP to move S2M-5776—

that the Environment and Rural Development Committee recommends that nothing further be done under the Inshore Fishing (Prohibited Methods of Fishing) (Firth of Lorn) (No. 2) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/240).

3. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instruments—

the Tuberculosis (Scotland) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/147);
the Waste Management Licensing Amendment (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) (Scotland) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/172);
the Radioactive Contaminated Land (Scotland) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/179);
the Inshore Fishing (Prohibited Methods of Fishing) (Loch Creran) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/185);
the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/194);
the Seed (Scotland) (Amendments for Tests and Trials etc.) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/224); and
the Inshore Fishing (Prohibited Methods of Fishing) (Firth of Lorn) Revocation Order 2007, (SSI 2007/239).

Proposed future business

It is expected that this will be the Committee’s final meeting of this Session.

The Committee will meet at 11.00 am in Committee Room 3

1. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will take evidence on the following instrument:

the National Health Service (Travelling Expenses and Remission of Charges) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 2007 (SSI 2007/259).

Members will hear from—

Lewis Macdonald MSP, Deputy Minister for Health and Community Care; Dr Jonathan Pryce, Health Department, Scottish Executive; and, Patrick Layden, Office of the Solicitor to the Scottish Executive.

Justice 1 Committee

The Committee will meet at 11.00 am in Committee Room 6

1. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will take evidence from Gillian Mawdsley, Scottish Executive Justice Department, and Ian Vickerstaff, Office of the Solicitor to the Scottish Executive, in relation to the following negative instruments—

the Criminal Legal Aid (Scotland) (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/180); and
the Civil Legal Aid (Scotland) (Fees) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/181).

2. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will take evidence from Richard Wilkins, Scottish Executive Justice Department, and Stephen Crilly, Office of the Solicitor to the Scottish Executive, in relation to the following negative instrument—

the Justices of the Peace (Scotland) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/210).

3. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instruments—

the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (Path Orders) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/163); and
Act of Sederunt (Fees of Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) (Amendment) 2007, (SSI 2007/211).

4. Annual report: The Committee will consider a draft annual report for the Parliamentary year from 7 May 2006 to 2 April 2007.

5. Scottish Criminal Record Office inquiry: The Committee will consider responses from the Scottish Executive and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service to the Committee’s report on its inquiry into the Scottish Criminal Record Office and Scottish Fingerprint Service.

6. Legacy paper (in private): The Committee will consider a draft legacy paper.

Proposed future business

It is expected that this will be the final meeting of the Committee in session 2.
