The Committee will meet at 9.45 am in Committee Room 4

1. Rights of Relatives to Damages (Mesothelioma) (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will consider the Bill at Stage 2.

2. Family support services inquiry: The Committee will take evidence from—

Robert Brown MSP, Deputy Minister for Education and Young People;
Rod Burns, Scottish Executive Education Department; and
Moira Wilson, Scottish Executive Justice Department.

3. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instruments—

the Police (Injury Benefit) (Scotland) Revocation Regulations, (SSI 2007/28);
the Registration of Civil Partnerships (Prescription of Forms, Publicisation and Errors) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/53); and
the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Re-Registration) (Scotland) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/54).

Proposed future business

At its next meeting on 6 March, it is expected that the Committee will consider a Session 2 legacy paper and subordinate legislation.

Environment and Rural Development Committee

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Committee Room 5

1. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instruments—

the Sulphur Content of Liquid Fuels (Scotland) Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/27);
the Sea Fishing (Prohibition on the Removal of Shark Fins) (Scotland) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/39);
the Sea Fishing (Restriction on Days at Sea) (Scotland) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/40);
the Smoke Control Areas (Exempt Fireplaces) (Scotland) Order 2007, (SSI 2007/55); and
the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2007, (SSI 2007/56).

2. Cairngorms National Park Boundary Bill (in private): The Committee will consider a draft Stage 1 report.

3. Marine environment inquiry (in private): The Committee will consider a draft report.

Proposed future business

At its next meeting on 28 February, the Committee expects to continue consideration (in private) of a draft Stage 1 report on the Cairngorms National Park Boundary Bill, and a draft report on its marine environment inquiry.

Local Government and Transport Committee

The Committee will meet at 12.00 pm in Committee Room 3

1. Subordinate legislation: Tavish Scott MSP to move motion S2M-5527—

That the Local Government and Transport Committee recommends that the Draft Transfer of Functions, Property, Rights and Liabilities from the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive to the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Authority Order 2007 be approved.
