S2W-8884 Pauline McNeill: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S2W-8592 by Malcolm Chisholm on 8 June 2004, what range of decisions the minister can take in relation to the proposals for closure of the Queen Mother's Hospital and what factors the minister is required to take into account in arriving at a decision.

S2W-8885 Pauline McNeill: To ask the Scottish Executive whether there are now any plans to increase the graduate endowment threshold repayment above the rate of inflation.

S2W-8886 Pauline McNeill: To ask the Scottish Executive what progress has been made on its plans to commission a Scottish-based student income and expenditure survey.

S2W-8887 Pauline McNeill: To ask the Scottish Executive what action it is taking to reduce barriers to accessing further and higher education.

S2W-8894 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the statement by the Deputy Minister for Finance and Public Services to the Finance Committee on 13 January 2004 that he did not recognise the 45 million figure in respect of the relocation of Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) from Edinburgh to Inverness, whether the Executive will now provide a breakdown of its estimate of the (a) total gross and (b) actual net cost of the relocation of SNH, stating the components of the figures in each case.

S2W-8895 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to S2W-8397 by Allan Wilson on 4 June 2004, whether it has received any advice on the value of (a) Knocknagael, (b) Beechwood and (c) Balrobert farm and whether it has received any advice from the Crofters Commission regarding these matters.

S2W-8896 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what the average cost is to crofting appellants in respect of settling boundary disputes and apportionment.

S2W-8897 Mr David Davidson: To ask the Scottish Executive what funding was available for research into a cure for myeloma in each of the last five years and what future funding will be made available.

S2W-8898 Mr David Davidson: To ask the Scottish Executive what action it is taking to ensure that the treatment and management of myeloma after diagnosis is adequate if prevention screening is not undertaken and in light of delays in the diagnosis of myeloma.

S2W-8899 Mr David Davidson: To ask the Scottish Executive what action is being taken to ensure equity of, and access to, treatment and care for myeloma throughout Scotland, particularly in relation to new drugs and techniques.

S2W-8900 Mr David Davidson: To ask the Scottish Executive what recent research and studies it has undertaken regarding the cause of myeloma.

S2W-8901 Mr David Davidson: To ask the Scottish Executive what recent research has been undertaken to assess the epidemiology and incidence of myeloma in Scotland and, if such research has been undertaken, what percentage of myeloma patients are (a) men and (b) women; how many people were diagnosed with (a) myeloma and (b) multiple myeloma in (i) 1975, (ii) 1980, (iii) 1985, (iv) 1990, (v) 1995, (vi) 2000 and (vii) 2001; what percentage of myeloma patients are under (a) 30, (b) 40 and (c) 50, and in what areas there are clusters of myeloma patients.

S2W-8902 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive what monitoring procedures are in place to assess whether freight facilities grants succeed in moving freight from delivery by road.

S2W-8903 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive on what basis the basic building block of the Scottish Deprivation Index will be assessed and when the assessment will be published.

S2W-8904 Mr Jamie McGrigor: To ask the Scottish Executive how much has been spent to date on recruitment and retention of cultural co-ordinators for schools by (a) it, (b) local authorities and (c) the Scottish Arts Council.

S2W-8905 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what discussions it has had with Scottish and Southern Energy plc about the ringing of the north of Scotland with an undersea power cable to link producers with urban markets.

S2W-8906 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has made an estimate of the cost of an undersea power cable to carry renewable electricity production from the Northern and Western Isles and the mainland to urban markets.

S2W-8907 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has estimated the cost of an undersea electric transmission cable, rather than a combination of short undersea cable and 400,000 pylon lines, from north-west Scotland to the Scottish border.

S2W-8908 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what discussions it has had with Ofgem regarding options for electricity transmission above ground and by undersea cable.

S2W-8909 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what upgrade will be necessary on the Dounreay to Beauly 275KW power line to carry electricity production from the northern mainland and the Northern Isles to the main Scottish grid from Beauly to the south.

S2W-8910 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what the estimated cost is of an undersea cable for electricity produced in Lewis to the Dounreay 275KW power line.

S2W-8911 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what the estimated cost is of 400KW pylon lines from Ardmair Bay, Wester Ross, to Beauly and from Beauly to Denny.

S2W-8912 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what the estimated cost is of 400KW pylon lines from (a) Denny to the Scottish border and (b) Denny (i) on land to Galloway and (ii) via an undersea cable to Northern Ireland.

S2W-8913 Rob Gibson: To ask the Scottish Executive what discussions it has had with Scottish and Southern Energy plc about the possible transmission of offshore wind power generated at the Beatrice platform in the Moray Firth (a) by undersea cable to an appropriate landfall on the Dounreay to Beauly 275KW power line and (b) by undersea cable from Beatrice to Leith or Newcastle.

S2W-8917 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive what risk analysis has been carried out on which to base any decision in relation to increasing places in open prisons.

S2W-8918 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive how many prisoners have breached non-parole licences in each of the last five years.

S2W-8919 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive how many prisoners have absconded from (a) HM Prison Castle Huntly and (b) HM Prison Noranside in each of the last five years.

S2W-8920 Mary Scanlon: To ask the Scottish Executive whether any prison staff have intimated any legal claims against it for being subjected to degrading working conditions subsequent to Lord Bonomy's judgement in the Napier case.

S2W-8921 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has any plans to amend the small business rates relief scheme and, in particular, whether businesses under the threshold will be able to benefit from the scheme automatically rather than by application and whether it intends to review the level at which the threshold for relief is set.

S2W-8922 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive, with reference to the Smoking Epidemic paragraph on page 11 of the Public Health Institute for Scotland's Two Year Report January 2001 - March 2003, whether the promised "atlas showing estimated smoking prevalence and smoking related mortality rates at post code sector, local authority, parliamentary constituency and NHS Board level", due for completion in autumn 2003, has been published; if so, where it can be accessed and, if not, when it will be published.

S2W-8923 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will publish the findings of Project Galore and subsequent research into people's perception of Scotland including the campaign about Scotland's international image.

S2W-8924 Mr Kenny MacAskill: To ask the Scottish Executive what the current criteria are for placing a minor in a secure unit and what plans it has to review such criteria.

S2W-8925 Murdo Fraser: To ask the Scottish Executive how it will implement the findings of the A9 Dunblane to Perth Junction Strategy Study.
