1. Designation of Lead Committees

The Bureau agreed to recommend to the Parliament:

(a) that the Justice 2 Committee be designated as lead committee in consideration of the following instruments-

the draft Advice and Assistance (Assistance by Way of Representation) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2004;

the draft Advice and Assistance (Financial Limit) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2004; and

(b) that the Justice 1 Committee be designated as lead committee in consideration of the following instruments-

the Crofting Community Body Form of Application for Consent to Buy Croft Land etc. and Notice of Minister's Decision (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/224);

the Crofting Community Right to Buy (Grant Towards Compensation Liability) (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/225);

the Crofting Community Right to Buy (Compensation) (Scotland) Order 2004, (SSI 2004/226);

the Crofting Community Right to Buy (Ballot) (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/227);

the Community Right to Buy (Ballot) (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/228);

the Community Right to Buy (Compensation) (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/229);

the Community Right to Buy (Register of Community Interests in Land Charges) (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/230);

the Community Right to Buy (Specification of Plans) (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/231);

the Community Right to Buy (Forms) (Scotland) Regulations 2004, (SSI 2004/233).

2. Days when the Office of the Clerk is open - January to September 2005

The Bureau agreed the following motion in terms of days when the Office of the Clerk would be open between January and September 2005:

Office of the Clerk-That the Parliament agrees that between 8 January 2005 and 2 September 2005, the Office of the Clerk shall be open all days except: Saturdays and Sundays, 25 and 28 March, and 2, 27 and 30 May 2005.

3. Finance Committee - appointment of adviser

The Bureau approved the appointment of an adviser to assist the Finance Committee in its cross-cutting review of Economic Development.

4. Justice 2 Committee - appointment of adviser

The Bureau approved the appointment of an adviser to assist the Justice 2 Committee in its inquiry into youth justice.

5. Date of next meeting

The next meeting of the Bureau would be held at 2.30 pm on Tuesday 8 June 2004.
