S2W-576 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive what information it has received about plans by Lakeland Marine Farms Ltd to establish three cod farms off the north coast of the Isle of Arran and when it first received any such information.

S2W-577 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive why there has been no public consultation in respect of Lakeland Marine Farms Ltd's application for three cod farms off the north coast of the Isle of Arran, given that the application was made two years ago, and whether it is normal and acceptable for this to be the case.

S2W-578 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive whether there has been any involvement in the last two years of (a) Scottish Natural Heritage, (b) the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and (c) North Ayrshire Council in relation to plans by Lakeland Marine Farms Ltd to establish three cod farms off the north coast of the Isle of Arran and when it was informed of any such involvement.

S2W-579 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it would normally expect (a) the Crown Estate, (b) Scottish Natural Heritage, (c) the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and (d) North Ayrshire Council to notify it of plans such as those being proposed by Lakeland Marine Farms Ltd to establish three cod farms off the north coast of the Isle of Arran and what the reasons are for the position on this matter.

S2W-580 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive what the impact on the tourism economy on the Isle of Arran would be of the creation of an industrial fish-farming development comprising 10 cages of nets with a circumference of 100 m and a depth of 15 m.

S2W-581 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has received information about any estimates that, in order to produce 2,000 tonnes of farmed cod, 8,000 tonnes of wild fish would be required as food and what assessment it has made of the consequent impact of dumping 6,000 tonnes of excrement on the seabed off the north coast of the Isle of Arran, with particular regard to the proposals of Lakeland Marine Farms Ltd.

S2W-582 Campbell Martin: To ask the Scottish Executive whether residents of the Isle of Arran should be consulted before any extension is made to the existing fish farm in Lamlash Bay and what the reasons are for the position on this matter.

S2W-583 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive how many people have died in each of the last five years as a result of (a) tobacco consumption, (b) obesity, (c) alcohol misuse and (d) misuse of illegal drugs.

S2W-584 Brian Adam: To ask the Scottish Executive how many people have been admitted to hospital in each of the last five years as a result of (a) tobacco consumption, (b) obesity, (c) alcohol misuse and (d) misuse of illegal drugs.

S2W-585 Phil Gallie: To ask the Scottish Executive what powers it has in respect of economic development to support firms in securing fair treatment from bodies and offices such as the Traffic Commissioner for Scotland.

S2W-586 Phil Gallie: To ask the Scottish Executive what assessment it has made of the economic impact of any discriminatory action being taken by the Traffic Commissioner for Scotland against Trans Consult in Edinburgh.

S2W-587 John Farquhar Munro: To ask the Scottish Executive whether there was a reduction in the number of accidents at the junction between the A90 and A94 after the introduction of a speed limit and speed cameras at the junction and what the cost was of introducing these measures

S2W-588 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive how many children under six in each NHS board area have been diagnosed with a mental illness in each of the last five years broken down by (a) type of illness and (b) age.

S2W-589 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive how much of the total mental health budget has been allocated to services relating to child mental illness and how much has been spent in each year since 1999, broken down by NHS board area.

S2W-590 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive what initiatives are in place to promote mental well-being of children and young people.

S2W-591 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive what initiatives are in place to assist people with a mental illness to obtain employment or training opportunities.

S2W-592 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans there are to ensure that people with a mental illness can access appropriate transport through transport access schemes.

S2W-593 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans there are to fund research into non-pharmacological treatments for mental illness.

S2W-594 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive what plans there are to include target outcomes for mental health provision and services to enable performance measurement.

S2W-595 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive what guidance is available to medical staff in the use of electro-convulsive treatment.

S2W-596 Mr Adam Ingram: To ask the Scottish Executive what research has been carried out in the last 10 years into the use of electro-convulsive treatment and when such research was carried out and by whom.

S2W-597 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will arrange an inspection of Falkirk Council’s education department under the Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. Act 2000.

S2W-598 Alasdair Morgan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has any plans to review the level of grant support given to public transport operators in the Dumfries and Galloway Council area.

S2W-599 Alasdair Morgan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will provide additional financial support for local bus services in the Dumfries and Galloway Council area, with particular regard to services at peak commuting times.

S2W-600 Donald Gorrie: To ask the Scottish Executive whether, in view of its commitment in A Partnership for a Better Scotland to encourage the integration of refugees into local communities, it will make representations to Her Majesty’s Government that the children of asylum seekers held at Dungavel House immigration removal centre should be allowed to attend local schools.

S2W-601 Maureen Macmillan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will make public the recommendations by BEAR Scotland Ltd about safety at the north Kessock junction on the A9 that are due to be submitted to the Executive at the end of June 2003.
