S2W-385 Michael Matheson: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will investigate the statement by Mr Colin Laverty in the April 2003 edition of the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland that, in a recent trial at Coatbridge District Court of a person charged with assault, the Procurator Fiscal failed to view videotape evidence before deciding in what court to try the case and before deciding to accept a guilty plea to a reduced charge.

S2W-412 David Mundell: To ask the Scottish Executive what guidance is available for sheriff officers on the execution of their duties.

S2W-413 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has received any further recommendations from Sir John Arbuthnott in relation to the distribution of NHS funds and, if so, whether it will give details of the recommendations and what the timescale will be for any ministerial decisions being taken in respect of this matter.

S2W-414 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive how many registered drug misusers there have been (a) in total and (b) broken down by NHS board area in each of the last four years, showing the percentage increase in each year.

S2W-415 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive how much funding has been allocated to tackling drug misuse for each of the last four years, broken down into (a) enforcement and (b) treatment.

S2W-416 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of prison inmates have been sentenced for drug-related offences in each of the last four years.

S2W-417 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of court cases related to drugs in each of the last four years.

S2W-418 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive what the cost to the economy of drug-related crime has been in each of the last four years.

S2W-419 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will make new funds available to Falkirk Council for the construction of new buildings for Falkirk High School and other schools in the council's area.

S2W-420Δ Scott Barrie: To ask the Scottish Executive when the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 will come into force.

S2W-421 Pauline McNeill: To ask the Scottish Executive when the new housing repair grant system will come into operation.

S2W-422 Pauline McNeill: To ask the Scottish Executive what additional funding has been made available for the new housing repair grant system.

S2W-423 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive how much public money has been given to football clubs that are members of the Scottish Premier League and for what purpose.

S2W-424 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive how much funding it is proposing to make available to football clubs that are members of the Scottish Premier League and for what purpose.

S2W-425 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will make it a condition of any future public funding of football clubs that are members of the Scottish Premier League (SPL) that the criteria for admission to the SPL do not infringe any principles of natural justice and that any application for admission is assessed in an open and accountable manner.

S2W-426 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive whether, in light of the statement made to the Parliament by the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport on 26 March 2003 (Official Report, c 19935), it will initiate a dialogue with the Scottish Premier League about its membership rules in order to ensure that they do not infringe any principles of natural justice.

S2W-427 Dennis Canavan: To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it is taking to ensure that promotion in sport is based primarily on sporting performance.

S2W-428 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive what requirements there are for universities to maintain student records.

S2W-429 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive for what minimum length of time universities are required to hold student records.

S2W-430 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive what requirements there are for universities to maintain records of a student’s date of graduation and type of degree or diploma awarded and for how long any such records are required to be held.

S2W-431 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive what requirements there are for universities to maintain records of the length and type of course studied by their students.

S2W-432 Bruce Crawford: To ask the Scottish Executive what requirements there are for universities to maintain records of the subjects studied in each year and of the number of hours studied per subject.

S2W-433 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive what assurances it can give, in particular to the communities of East Lothian, that the whereabouts of John Cronin will be monitored following his release.

S2W-434 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive what additional resources will be given to Lothian and Borders Police in respect of efforts to monitor the movements of John Cronin.

S2W-435 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will now review the law regarding the detention of those suffering from personality disorders that place the public at risk but do not currently justify statutory detention and what consideration it will give to introducing new statutory measures in respect of this matter.

S2W-436 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive what consideration it will give to amending the law on the registration and/or monitoring of sex offenders in order to include retrospective provisions.

S2W-437 Maureen Macmillan: To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it is taking to progress phase 2 of the works at Wick Harbour and ensure that there is no deterioration in the phase 1 emergency repairs to the harbour.

S2W-438 Robert Brown: To ask the Scottish Executive what action it is taking to support the Post Office in its efforts to revitalise the Post Office network, as referred to in A Partnership for a Better Scotland.

S2W-439 Robert Brown: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it plans to make use of the Post Office network to promote Executive services.

S2W-440 Richard Lochhead: To ask the Scottish Executive whether there are any plans to promote the medical prescribing of heroin for long-term addicts and, if so, what these plans are.

S2W-441 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Presiding Officer, further to the answer to question S1W-8962 by Sir David Steel on 21 August 2000, whether the works package in respect of "MSP Cladding" included the windows contract.

S2W-442 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it will take to assist the scallop fishing industry.

S2W-443 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answers to question S1F-2580 by Mr Jack McConnell on 13 March 2003, when it will make an announcement on secure funding for mountain rescue teams.

S2W-444 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has made any calculation of the cost of providing a mountain rescue service where the existing voluntary provision by mountain rescue teams has been withdrawn and, if so, what its estimate is of the total annual cost of providing such a service.

S2W-445 John Swinburne: To ask the Scottish Executive what the remit is of its Older People's Unit; who the members of the unit are; how often the unit meets; when the unit last met, and what matters were discussed.

S2W-446 John Swinburne: To ask the Scottish Executive what the remit is of its Older People's Consultative Forum; who the members of the forum are; how often the forum meets; when the forum last met, and what matters were discussed.

S2W-447 John Swinburne: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has any plans to review its central heating installation programme.

S2W-448 John Swinburne: To ask the Scottish Executive how many senior citizens have applied under its central heating installation programme since the programme’s inception; how many senior citizens have had central heating installed under the programme, and how many of these have had to pay for all, or part, of the installation.

S2W-449 Murdo Fraser: To ask the Scottish Executive what the cost has been to date to Scottish Natural Heritage of its project to re-introduce the beaver.

S2W-450 Murdo Fraser: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has made any assessment of the economic impact of reducing business rates to the same level as England.

S2W-451 Murdo Fraser: To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has made any assessment of the economic impact of increasing annual expenditure on transport infrastructure by 100 million.

S2W-452 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive whether the powers of direction of Scottish Ministers in respect of non-departmental public bodies were used during the first session of the Parliament and, if so, in which instances.

S2W-453 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive in respect of which non-departmental public bodies Scottish Ministers have the powers of direction and what these powers relate to.

S2W-454 Fergus Ewing: To ask the Scottish Executive in what circumstances Scottish Ministers might use their powers of direction in respect of non-departmental public bodies.

S2W-455 Christine Grahame: To ask the Scottish Executive what concerns it has following the recommendation of the report by Ms Anne Black of 25 April 2003 that no disciplinary proceedings should take place in respect of Scottish Borders Council social work department following the "Miss X" case and what powers it has to intervene in the matter and request to see the report.
