*S1M-3186 Margaret Smith: Publication of the Scottish Parliamentary Ombudsman and Health Service Ombudsman for Scotland’s Annual Report 2001-02—That the Parliament notes that the Scottish Parliamentary Ombudsman and Health Service Ombudsman for Scotland intends to lay his Annual Report for 2001-02 before the Parliament and orders the Clerk to publish the report.

*S1M-3185# Irene Oldfather: Scotland's Industrial Museums—That the Parliament notes the work of Scotland’s industrial museums, including the Scottish Maritime Museum and the Scottish Mining Museum, in conserving our national industrial heritage across a number of communities; further notes the steps that have been taken since the publication of the Scottish Executive’s national cultural strategy to place these collections on a sustainable financial basis, and believes that these collections should be preserved for future generations.

*S1M-3184 Ross Finnie: The Draft Welfare of Farmed Animals (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002—That the Rural Development Committee, in consideration of the draft Welfare of Farmed Animals (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002, recommends that the Regulations be approved.

*S1M-3177 Dr Richard Simpson: The Draft Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2002—That the Justice 1 Committee, in consideration of the draft Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2002, recommends that the Regulations be approved.

*S1M-3176 Robin Harper: Threat of Nuclear War over Kashmir—That the Parliament recognises with grave concern the dispute between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, the military build up of millions of troops along their borders and the potential for escalation to nuclear war including the immediate threat of annihilation of at least 12 million civilians of both countries; strongly urges the UK Prime Minister to visit the region and to use his personal relationship with the President of the United States of America to urge that the President also visits the region, and calls on Her Majesty’s Government to suspend immediately the sale of all arms and munitions to the region and to put a proposal before the United Nations for a peacekeeping force to be introduced along the zone of control as a matter of extreme urgency. R

*S1M-3175 Richard Lochhead: The Parliament in Aberdeen—That the Parliament extends its appreciation to all involved in the smooth running of its visit to Aberdeen from 28 to 30 May 2002, particularly to all at the University of Aberdeen and Aberdeen City Council and to parliamentary staff who were involved in the planning and execution of parliamentary business and associated events throughout the week, and notes that the success of the visit and warm welcome from the north-east community suggests that the parliament should explore the possibilities of repeating the exercise in Aberdeen and elsewhere in Scotland in coming years.
