Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Bill

The Presiding Officer wishes to inform Members that subject to the Parliament’s agreement to Parliamentary Bureau motions, today’s proceedings may last until 7.30 pm. Questions will be put on amendments throughout the afternoon and Decision Time is likely to be at 7.00 pm.

A Parliamentary Bureau motion outlining the timetabling of Stage 3 consideration of the Bill is in Section A of this Bulletin. A Parliamentary Bureau motion on the timing of the meeting of Parliament and of decision time is also in Section A.

The Presiding Officer also wishes to draw members’ attention to the following:

    1. For members wishing to take part in the debate, copies of the marshalled list of amendments will be available this morning from the Document Supply Centre.
    2. Under Rule 11.3, the question on the Parliamentary Bureau motion on the timetable for Stage 3 consideration of the Bill will be put immediately. The Presiding Officer has also decided to put the question on the motion on the timing of the meeting of Parliament immediately after it is moved.
    3. Questions on Stage 3 amendments will be put at the relevant stages throughout the debate. Any votes will be conducted using the electronic voting system, with a voting time of 30 seconds. No additional time will be allowed: members wishing to participate should ensure that they are present in the Chamber.
