Justice and Home Affairs Committee

5th Meeting, 2000

The Committee will meet at 9.30 am in the Chamber, Assembly Hall, the Mound

1. Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will consider the Bill at Stage 2 (Day 4).

2. Petition: The Committee will consider petition PE28 by Alex and Margaret Dekker on road traffic deaths.

3. Domestic violence: The Committee will consider options for the inquiry in view of the Reporter’s recommendations and recent Executive announcements.

4. Social Partnership Funding: The Committee will consider whether to apply for Social Partnership funding for its future work.

5. Future business: The Committee will consider its future business programme.

 

Finance Committee

3rd Meeting, 2000

The Committee will meet at 11.00 am in Committee Room 1

1. Written Agreements with the Scottish Executive: The Committee will consider the terms of the Minister for Finance’s response to draft written agreements between the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Ministers, relating to the annual budget process.

2. Inquiry into the Finance Functions of the Scottish Executive: The Committee will take evidence from Graham Leicester, Director, Scottish Council Foundation.

European Committee

The Committee will meet at 2.00 pm in Committee Room 2

1. Terms of Reference for Reporters: The Committee will discuss the proposed terms of reference for the following reporter-

3. Petitions: The Committee will have a first discussion on the following petitions-

PE61 – Petition by the National Farmer’s Union of Scotland calling for the allocation of national funds to compensate Scotish arable producers for the introduction of the Euro

PE 62 – Petition by the National Farmer’s Union of Scotland calling for the Scottish Parliament to support the payment of full Euro-compensation to Scottish beef and sheep farmers in 2000 and 2001

4. Convener's Report: The Convener will report to the Committee on-
